Sasheen T. Stone is a member of the D/Lakota Nation and is enrolled in the Yankton Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, with affiliations to the Rosebud Lakota Sioux Tribe. She is married and has four beautiful children. In 2024, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration Management, emphasizing Legal Studies, from Sinte Gleska University in Mission, South Dakota.

For the past eight years, Sasheen has managed the Tribe's agriculture fee lands and is currently serving her second term on the Yankton Sioux Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. Additionally, she worked for six years as a Research Assistant at the University of South Dakota and has served two terms as a board member for the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Sasheen is currently pursuing a Master of Legal Studies in Indigenous Peoples Law at the University of Oklahoma School of Law. This degree will enhance her work within Indigenous communities. Her focus is on protecting natural and cultural resources while promoting Indigenous self-sufficiency and sovereignty. Sasheen is passionate about strengthening Indigenous self-governance, policy, regulation, and business practices throughout Native Nations, as well as understanding how these efforts affect the present-day experiences of Native people.
